Almond Tree Capital and its founders identified a unique and pressing opportunity to capitalize on medical technology and device businesses and assets. With deep passion and knowledge from the financial, marketing, legal, and technical world, the founders joined forces and developed a novel playbook for medical device and technology investing.

Cary Adams

Cary Adams has over thirty-five years experience as a healthcare lawyer representing all aspects of the healthcare industry in regulatory and corporate matters, and disputes arising therefrom, and over fourteen years experience in angel investing. He was one of the earliest investors in Khimetrics (acquired by SAP in 2006), Uptake Medical, PatientSafe Solutions, and NexGen Medical Systems, where he has been a member of the board of directors since 2008. He was the founding President of the Sacramento Angels, the Founding Chair of the Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance (SARTA), and Chair of SARTA’s MedStart Program. He is the visionary behind Almond Tree Capital and the MedFORCE Accelerator. He has attracted a uniquely qualified team to create and apply our New Playbook for Early Stage Med Tech investing, to address big opportunities to improve medicine and healthcare, despite a challenging environment of regulatory, health policy, and financial market headwinds. Cary holds a BA from the University of Virginia, and his JD degree from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Maryland Law Review.

Christian Renaudin

Christian is the founder and Managing Partner of The MarkeTech Group, LLC, a prominent marketing consultant to the global med tech industry, with offices on three continents and a client list that includes many of the biggest companies in med tech: GEHC, Siemens, Philips, Medtronic, Abbott, GORE,St Jude Medical, Carefusion, Toshiba, Agfa, Smith&Nephew, Boston Scientific, Edwards LifeScience, etc. He is a standard setter in market analysis, go-to-market strategy, pricing strategy, and the process by which existing clinical pathways may be disrupted by new innovations. He is passionate about entrepreneurship and has made his own angel investments and mentored many early-stage companies. With offices and homes in Northern California and France, Christian is uniquely qualified to facilitate an initial European market strategy.
